JOE & THE JUICE is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Head of Operations Engineering to lead the transformation, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our physical stores. In this crucial role, you will become the champion of streamlined operations, spearheading the identification, analysis, improvement of workflows, and productivity, across all aspects of our in-store operations experience. From the moment ingredients arrive to the final customer interaction, you will be responsible for designing and implementing creative solutions to optimize processes, boost efficiency, and elevate the guest and juicer experience.


The position is new in JOE & THE JUICE and will report to the future Director of Global Operations working alongside Health & Safety, Training, Shiftplanning & Customer Support in our global HQ in central Copenhagen. We expect a travel time of 5-20 days a year.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct in-depth time and motion analyses of existing workflows within our stores, encompassing tasks like inventory receiving, product preparation, order fulfillment, beverage creation, and customer service.

Partner closely with Managing Directors for our four regions to understand their daily challenges and identify areas for workflow improvement and potential bottlenecks.

Lead the design and implementation of solutions to optimise and simplify specific in-store workflows. This may involve:

Physical layout optimization: Streamlining product placement, equipment arrangement, and staff workflow patterns & routines to improve efficiency – both front and back of house.

Standardized procedures: Implementing clear and consistent protocols for various tasks and workstations to minimize errors and save time.

Visual communication tools: Utilizing signage, Kitchen Display System (The List) improve communication and task clarity for staff.

Specialized equipment and smallwares: Introducing non-automated equipment or tools (e.g., portion control dispensers, standardised scoops) to streamline specific tasks.

Channel Production: Builds seamless integration of in-store (POS & SSK) and out of store (App, Delivery, Online) order points and impact on production workflows.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Development, Design, Corporate IT) to ensure implemented solutions align with overall brand strategy, ensuring training materials are updated accordingly.

Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, leveraging data (including Juicer engagement) to make adjustments and refinements as needed.

Stay up-to-date on best practices and trends in F&B retail operations to identify further opportunities for optimization.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the store operations team, encouraging staff to identify areas of opportunity and propose non-technological solutions.

Review new store concept designs to provide operational assessment of store operations engine (front of house / back of house).

Work with design team to ensure BOH/BTC requirements are documented and used, with clear guidelines on trade-downs in the event ideal design cannot be achieved.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field, with a focus on process improvement or operational excellence.

Minimum 5 years of experience in operational leadership or process improvement within a retail or F&B environment.

Proven ability to identify inefficiencies, analyze problems, and develop creative solutions.

Ideally experience in Lean processes or engineering.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of in-store inefficiencies.

Solid communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with store managers, staff, and cross-functional teams.

Passion for the F&B industry and a deep understanding of the current retail operational landscape.
